Distributed systems, built with agents

Agents that finish the job.

Rustnode AI is a small studio building AI agents and the systems that hold them up — tool use, orchestration, retrieval, evaluation. Most of that work is plumbing. We're fine with that.

What we do

Three lines of work, one set of problems.

01In build

Agent systems

Agents that live inside the tools a team already uses — reading a real inbox, a real ticket queue, a real calendar — and are judged on whether the task is actually done at the end.

02In design

Small, narrow products

One job, done completely, for businesses too small to hire an AI team. Fewer features than a platform and far less setup than a consultant.

03Ongoing

The layer underneath

Retrieval, tool interfaces, evaluation harnesses, and the Rust services that keep them fast and predictable under load. Unglamorous, and the reason the rest works.

How we work

Boring on purpose, so the agent isn't.

  1. 01

Start from the task, not the model

We write down what "done" looks like before writing any prompt. If it can't be measured, it isn't a spec yet.

  2. 02

    Evaluate before shipping

Every agent comes with a test set it has to pass. Demos are easy; the hundredth run is what matters.

  3. 03

    Keep the blast radius small

Agents get narrow permissions and reversible actions by default. Anything irreversible waits for a human.

  4. 04

    Ship small, then widen

One workflow in production beats ten in a slide deck. We'd rather earn the second project than scope the first one to death.
